About the artist
I have lived in California my whole life, always wanting to be as close to the ocean as possible. I have always loved to draw and remember opening a tray of crayons at 5 years old and thinking it was the most amazing gift ever.
I had many wonderful years in classrooms as an art teacher and an instructional assistant for children with special needs. Being in a classroom with children eager to laugh, learn and create has been a joy.
Love of nature and animals has always been central to my life and art.
I grew up in a family that rescued everything from stray dogs and cats to roosters and ducks. My husband and I live in Northern California with many rescued animals. We spend as much time as possible with our children and grandchildren playing, exploring nature and enjoying the incredible music our children create.
I use gouache and colored pencil for much of my artwork, but I also like to work with pencil, scratchboard and block printing.
